I hired Chet to convert an attached garage to a living space, for the purpose of renting the space. The renovation included framing and installing a bathroom (toilet and shower), installing a front door, two windows and a sliding patio door. Chet's work is EXCELLENT! He fully deserves the 5 stars for all categories in the ratings. Chet is a true professional and I highly recommend him for any building or renovation projects.
I recently contracted Chet to build a deck. I found Chet’s “one man company” on line by typing in - good deck builder in Halifax. I was impressed with his excellent reviews so I requested a quote for my project. Chet answered and set up our first meeting and subsequent meetings promptly. Chet is a well organized, punctual businessman and a gentleman. He is a very experienced, reliable, meticulous builder. He is fair and a man of his word. He has a very impressive work ethic and involves his clients in all decision making related to the project, a great communicator. He is also very respectful of his clients property and keeps his worksite organized, clean and tidy. He was particularly mindful and careful not to disturb my plants and garden beds. I did not have any clean up to do after he completed the project I am very pleased with my beautifully finished deck and I would highly recommend Chet for any building or renovation needs.
Chet is a great communicator, on time, on budget, and does the highest quality work. He also is helpful with other trades people on site and just straight up easy to work with. From detailed interior finish work to heavy duty construction, you won't go wrong with this guy.
The first task was to rebuild my back deck. Chet was fair in his assessments — always accurate, neither understating nor exaggerating the needs. I was so pleased with the work that we went on to numerous other projects — fixing a chimney, rebuilding rotting sills, and exterior painting. The process of hiring a contractor can be a daunting one. It's not often that one finds a contractor who is honest, professional, hardworking, a perfectionist, efficient, etc. (I could go on and on). Well look no more - Chet Boudreau is your man. Got a good feeling from Chet when he first visited my home. We discussed what I needed and wanted in regards to our bathroom renovation. Chet Boudreau is the best! We consider ourselves lucky having Chet worked on our restoration project. Our house recently had disastrous water damage, and we decided to find our own contractors for the repair and renovation jobs rather than using the ones designated by the insurance company. We interviewed about half a dozen builders before we finally found Chet. Different to all other contractors, Chet appreciates the value of our colonial style home, and worked extremely hard to restore the beauty of the previous style while adding new features and modern touches. Chet is experienced and honest. For our basement subfloor, Chet is the only contractor who gave us the option of glue-nailed construction while many others only offer using subfloor panels. Now we have a sturdy squeaky-free subfloor that can hold our heavy pool table and gym equipment without any problem. Chet is a good communicator and very patient. He gave us options and time for all the decisions need to be made such as flooring, trims, moldings etc. He works extremely hard every day and has a high standard for his work. With a few helpers, Chet finished the 5000 sqft project within two months. We are very happy with all his work!
I am now the proud owner of a magnificent shower, complete with bench seat, sloping floor/end drain, two rain showers, two pot-lights, and loads of grab bars. But really, it’s what you can’t see – underneath that lovely tiling – that is just as important. Chet is a master in all the modern techniques that are necessary in preparation of the shower unit before the tiling. The 5.0 scores that Chet achieves in all categories are entirely appropriate.
If you want a talented, creative, experienced craftsman, Chet will not disappoint. Except for the electrical and plumbing components of the project, which he subcontracts (but supervises), Chet does all the work himself, and with great pride. He is always cheerful, enthusiastic, and so straightforward. He will stick to his quotation to the penny, even if there are unforeseen difficulties, or if small changes or add-ons to the original plan are requested. His mission is to be sure you are completely satisfied with every aspect of his work. He is knowledgeable about all aspects of a bathroom renovation. If you are like me and find such a project daunting, do not be concerned – you are in good hands. As noted elsewhere, he is a gentleman, honest and responsible. You can leave your home comfortably in his care if you can’t always be present.
